PCI DSS Readiness

From $3,500 CAD · scoped to you

PCI DSS v4.0.1 is the payment-card industry security standard that applies to any organization that stores, processes, or transmits cardholder data.

Scope is everything: the single biggest driver of PCI cost and pain is how much of your environment is in scope. We scope it tightly, close the gaps, and get you to the right Self-Assessment Questionnaire. The work runs in two phases: a Phase 1 scoping and gap assessment against the requirements that apply to you, then Phase 2 remediation scoped from the gap.

Our principal took a venture-backed company from no programme at all to a SOC 2 Type II with zero exceptions: how it was built.

What we do

Cardholder data environment (CDE) scoping and data-flow mapping to minimize scope
Gap assessment against the applicable PCI DSS v4.0.1 requirements
Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) type selection and completion guidance
Remediation plan for network segmentation, encryption, logging, and access control
Evidence-collection support to back each requirement you attest to
Guidance on offloading scope with tokenization or a compliant payment processor
Clean Audit Guarantee

If we prepped it and it fails, we fix it free

Go through Phase 1 and Phase 2 with us, the gap analysis and the remediation support, and if your audit or certification returns a qualified opinion, a major nonconformity (MNC), or the equivalent on a control we prepared, we provide the remediation support to resolve it at no charge.

Built for teams that...

  • E-commerce and SaaS platforms that handle or route payment card data
  • Companies asked by an acquiring bank or payment partner to validate PCI compliance
  • Teams unsure which SAQ type applies to them or how to shrink their scope
  • Businesses that need to meet the v4.0.1 requirements that became mandatory on 31 March 2025

What you walk away with

You come out knowing exactly what is in your cardholder data environment, which SAQ you owe, and what to fix, usually with a smaller, cheaper scope than you started with. For most startups, the biggest win is descoping: keeping card data out of your systems so PCI stays manageable.

The price above covers the work. It also covers where the work lives, which most buyers are quoted separately as an annual platform subscription.

Frequently asked questions

What is PCI DSS v4.0.1?

PCI DSS is the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council on behalf of the card brands. Version 4.0.1 is the current release and introduces updated requirements around authentication, monitoring, and customized implementation approaches. Its 51 future-dated requirements became mandatory on 31 March 2025.

Which SAQ do I need?

It depends on how you accept payments and whether card data ever touches your systems. A fully outsourced e-commerce setup uses a much shorter SAQ than one that handles card data directly. Determining the right SAQ is one of the first things we do in scoping.

Can I reduce my PCI scope?

Usually, yes. Using a compliant payment processor, tokenization, or a hosted payment page keeps cardholder data out of your environment and dramatically shrinks what you have to assess. Descoping is often the most valuable move we make with a client.

What does PCI DSS cost?

It varies heavily by scope, SAQ type, and whether you need a Qualified Security Assessor. See our PCI DSS cost in CAD page for the drivers, or book a call for a scoped estimate. We do not quote a flat price before understanding your environment.
